Special Services for Special Needs

In the Americano family of owners, and among our guests who trade through Interval International or who rent a room, there are some who have special needs. In order to serve them equally, the Americano has followed guidelines set by the Americans with Disabilities Act and in some cases has gone beyond those guidelines to put in place the following access upgrades:

• Offer room air purifiers at the time of making a reservation (see below)
• Installed new elevators with braille numbers on the control panels of each floor and each elevator.
• The new elevators have lower controls in the reach of children and persons sitting in a wheelchair.
• Added new numbers to each room that are also in braille.
• Offer TDD units to be taken to the room so those hard of hearing may have telephone service.
• Have public restrooms with stalls wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair.
• Have a changing area for the beach with a stall wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair.
• Label access routes with wider doors for wheelchair access.
• Have specially designed rooms with wider doors and lower counters in the kitchen and bath.
• Have special counters lowered for wheelchair height at the indoor and outdoor bars.
• Offer special parking spaces which are wider to allow wheelchair access and closer to the entrance doors of the building.
• Have wheelchair accessible ramps to the entrance of the building.

Room Air Purifiers
(for NonSmokers, or those with allergies or lung problems)

We will provide non-smokers and people with medical conditions requiring clean air an air purifier unit. This will work on a request, first-come first-served basis, and must be requested before arriving at the Resort (preferably when you make your reservation). Please note, when you make this request - and it is only a request - the reservation staff will do their best to provide the air purifier for your room. If you have already called for a reservation, please call reservations to request a purifier. Leave a message with your full name, account number, dates reserved, and the confirmation number.
